How Attorneys Are Reviewed for Active Bar Standing
As part of our onboarding and review process, NeedAnAttorney.net reviews whether a participating attorney appears to hold active standing with the appropriate licensing authority in the jurisdiction relevant to the attorney’s practice.
This review may include publicly available licensing information, attorney profile details, firm information, and other identifying information relevant to confirming professional status.
Attorney participation in the NAA Network is intended for attorneys who appear eligible to practice based on the information available at the time of review.
How Practice Area Alignment Is Evaluated
NeedAnAttorney.net is designed to match users based on factors such as legal issue, location, and practice area fit.
To support that process, attorneys are also reviewed for practice area alignment. This means we evaluate whether the attorney’s stated services, firm positioning, and publicly presented practice focus appear to align with the categories of matters the platform may route to them.
For example, if an attorney is being considered for intellectual property matters, the attorney or firm should present a clear practice focus relevant to that area. If an attorney is being considered for personal injury matters, the attorney or firm should present a clear alignment with that category of work.
This process is intended to help reduce mismatch and support a more useful connection experience for both users and attorneys.
Participation in the NAA Network Is Not Automatic
Not every attorney is automatically included in the NAA Network.

What Happens If an Attorney’s Standing or Fit Changes
Attorney participation in the NAA Network is based on the platform’s review standards and operating requirements.
If NeedAnAttorney.net becomes aware of information suggesting that an attorney’s licensing status, practice area alignment, or platform fit may have changed, participation may be paused, limited, reevaluated, or discontinued as appropriate.
